The Islanders are treading water as they hover around .500, collecting points from tough teams like the Devils and Oilers. Kyle Palmieri has risen to the top of the Isles leaderboard, and Anders Lee looks like a renewed man, but there are still plenty of warts in the team's game. Mike Carver of SportsGrid sits down with Seany as a special guest co-host.

Hockey Night in NY

Good Morning, Islanders Country.

There are games you don’t deserve to win, games where you deserve better, and games where you get what you deserve. Through the first three games of their five-game road trip, the Islanders have experienced a mix of all three.

After stealing a point versus the Oilers, they dominated the Canucks to extend their point streak to five games (3-0-2). They then followed up their best game of the season with another strong effort but lost (or were robbed of) a game when they held a third-period lead for the third time this season.

Yet, despite the continued ups and downs, the Islanders have accomplished one thing over the last two weeks: They have us invested again. That wasn’t a guarantee six games ago. Not with Anthony Duclair, Mathew Barzal, Adam Pelech, Alexander Romanov, and Mike Reilly all out of the lineup.
