Good Morning, Islanders Country.
I’m going to Disney World!
By the time you read this, I’ll be “wheels up” on a family trip, so I won’t be publishing a newsletter for the next seven days unless there is some significant breaking news. I want to say I plan my vacations around the NHL schedule, but that would be a lie. It just worked out that I won’t miss a single Islanders game while away for seven days and nights.
As we pause for the next ten days, I want to thank the thousands of subscribers, especially all the paid subscribers who keep this newsletter going throughout the year. Thank you for starting your day with IslesFix.
Talk to you all soon!
LGI,

📚 SOUND SMART: Per Eric Hornick in The Skinny, The Isles have lost three straight games in regulation in which they have scored at least three goals (the first time since March 2022) after going 23-4-4 prior to that this season. The Isles have lost three straight road games for the first time this season.
🎥 ISLES REWIND: On February 12, 2002, captain Michael Peca scored the Islanders' league-leading 16th short-handed goal with 8.7 seconds left in overtime to defeat the Islanders 1-0 in Philadelphia. "I had a chance about 30 seconds earlier and didn't make a play," Peca said. "Fortunately, they didn't make a play on their end, and I had fresher legs than their guy." Backup goaltender Garth Snow earned his third straight shutout against his former team.

Insider news, rumors, and flat-out guesses will take shape two weeks before the next Isles game, giving us plenty of time to ponder and ruminate about the team's direction and, more specifically, Lou Lamoriello.
